Soilon teabags
Living as environmentally friendly as possible, a goal that many people strive for and fight for, however, people are not always willing to make choices that support to achieve this goal. This mainly concerns the smallest and daily routines and purchases, such as separating waste and buying products with biodegradable packaging. Choices like this are not only good for the environment, but also for yourself. You minimize the chance of ingesting tiny plastic particles. For example, when you drink a cup of tea with a bag made of plastic, microscopically small plastic particles end up in your tea, and so also in your body. You do not see it and you do not taste it, but if you use tea from a plastic tea bag, you really drink pieces of plastic. It is about very small pieces. To be precise: 11.6 billion microplastics and 3.1 billion nanoplastics. That of course cannot be healthy, but the extent to which it is unhealthy is currently being investigated.
At Tea Cultures we only use tea bags and tea pouches made from Soilon. Soilon is a bioplastic that is completely biodegradable. The material is made from lactic acid protein, which consists of corn starch. Because our tea bags are all biodegradable, it is allowed on the compost waste, where the tea bags will completely be disappeared within a period of one month. Soilon is similar to nylon, but soilon is naturally biodegradable. Not only is the tea bag environmentally friendly at Tea Cultures, the string and card of the tea are also made of biodegradable material. It is specially designed to offer a sustainable alternative to nylon tea bags, so that the microorganisms in the soil can break it down and no microplastics end up in nature.
