Vervain Lemon Cooler

This cocktail combines the refreshing flavours of verbena and lemon with a subtle sweetness, perfect for hot summer days or as a sophisticated aperitif.

Ingredients:

  • 60 ml vervain-infused vodka (see infusion instructions below)
  • 10 grams of vervain leaves
  • 30 ml fresh lemon juice
  • 15 ml simple syrup
  • 90 ml soda water
  • Ice cubes
  • Lemon slice and fresh vervain leaves for garnish

Instructions for Vervain-Infused Vodka:

  1. Fill a clean glass bottle with 250 ml of vodka.
  2.  Add a handful of fresh vervain leaves
  3.  Seal the bottle tightly and let the vodka steep for 24-48 hours in a cool, dark place.
  4. Strain the vodka to remove the leaves and store the infused vodka in the fridge.

 Instructions for the Cocktail:

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the vervain-infused vodka, fresh lemon juice and simple syrup.
  2. Shake for 15-20 seconds to mix and chill the ingredients well.
  3. Fill a long drink glass with ice cubes and pour the contents from the shaker through a strainer into the glass.
  4. Add the soda water and stir gently to mix. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a few fresh vervain leaves.
