This cocktail combines the refreshing flavours of verbena and lemon with a subtle sweetness, perfect for hot summer days or as a sophisticated aperitif.
Ingredients:
- 60 ml vervain-infused vodka (see infusion instructions below)
- 10 grams of vervain leaves
- 30 ml fresh lemon juice
- 15 ml simple syrup
- 90 ml soda water
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slice and fresh vervain leaves for garnish
Instructions for Vervain-Infused Vodka:
- Fill a clean glass bottle with 250 ml of vodka.
- Add a handful of fresh vervain leaves
- Seal the bottle tightly and let the vodka steep for 24-48 hours in a cool, dark place.
- Strain the vodka to remove the leaves and store the infused vodka in the fridge.
Instructions for the Cocktail:
- Fill a cocktail shaker with ice cubes. Add the vervain-infused vodka, fresh lemon juice and simple syrup.
- Shake for 15-20 seconds to mix and chill the ingredients well.
- Fill a long drink glass with ice cubes and pour the contents from the shaker through a strainer into the glass.
- Add the soda water and stir gently to mix. Garnish with a slice of lemon and a few fresh vervain leaves.
